Vespa – Although owned by Piaggio, Vespa is one of the most popular and longest producting manufacturers of mopeds. It was the Vespa moped that transported soldiers in the field in World War Two. SYM Sanyang Industry – Another Taiwanese moped maker, SYM produces over 600,000 models of scooters and mopeds a year and employs over 2,000 people. Their models are known for their speed and fuel efficiency. They have multiple manufacturing plants all over South East Asia.

Lambretta – Although now defunct, this Italian moped maker was very popular. They rose in popularity around the Second World War similar to the Vespa.
