Sachs Mopeds
Sachs Motorcycles was founded in Schweinfurt in 1886 and was, for a very long time, the oldest motorcycle manufacturer in the world. In fact, they manufactured the first motorcycle in 1904, several years before Harley Davidson manufactured their first motorcycle in the United States. Over the years, they absorbed several different German motorcycle companies, and in 1992, they even began providing motorcycles for the German Federal Armed Forces. Unfortunately, they could not sustain themselves with the increased competition, and they began using cheaper Chinese parts. Ultimately, they filed for insolvency protection, and were bought out. Before they did, however, they designed and produced a moped called the MadAss, which extremely unique and distinctive in the word of motorcycles, motor scooters, and mopeds. It is the last of the genuine Sachs mopeds.
The MadAss has a 50cc 4 stroke engine, which technically makes a moped instead of a motor scooter. There are several recent models, and they all have an extremely distinctive look that are almost a throwback to the more classic, nostalgic look of mopeds from the mid twentieth centure. But if that�s not what you want, you are not limited by Sachs models. You can also find mopeds and larger motor scooters that have a more popular, modern look. They aren�t nearly as distinctive, but they are fast, high quality, top rated mopeds and motor scooters. You can find used products in the United States, but most of their bikes and vehicles are sold overseas in Europe.
