Since the invention of the wheel all those years ago, entrepreneurially-minded individuals have been striving to create newer, more exciting, and better ways to get from point a to point b. Motorized scooters are just one of the many transportation options facing today�s travelers. This option, however, is more for the teenager wanting to visit a friend a few streets away than for the nomad hoping to circle the globe. The design of this small scooter has the rider in the standing position balancing on a large deck. These are not dissimilar to children�s scooters; however, they do include one key improvement- a motor which can be powered either by gas or electricity. Scooters typically feature either hard tires or air tires. Hard tires are usually six inches in diameter and are composed of hard plastic inserts encompassed by solid rubber tires. Air tires frequently have ten inch diameters and are made of steel or aluminum rims with an inner tube and rubber tire.
Scooters are excellent options for young adults looking to exercise a little freedom. The regulations regarding motorized vehicles do register from state to state, so you should be sure to check with your local law enforcement agency prior to making your purchase. In many states, scooters are not permitted on streets with speed limits over 25 miles per hour. Additionally, operators are generally required to wear bike helmets. In some states, individuals cannot use a scooter unless they are 16 years of age and possess a valid driver�s license.
