Moped Sidecar

The chances of finding a moped sidecar are actually pretty slim. Not because there isnt a bit of a demand for one. People have many reasons to want a sidecar, including carrying their pets, small children, or items like grocery bags. But mopeds are very light vehicles, and most of them also have very small engines. Engines that cannot support the extra weight of a sidecar, especially since that sidecar will most assuredly have somebody or something inside of it! Most people who think of these types of sidecars are actually thinking of a motor scooter sidecar. Motor scooters may or may not be bigger physically than a moped, but they do have larger engines and more power. Compare a 50cc two stroke engine to a 250cc four stroke engine and you begin to get an idea of what I am talking about.

If you want a sidecar, you need to figure out if it is safe and legal to attach one. If you havent already purchased a moped, you might want to look into motor scooters, and see if they fit your needs and your budget. As mentioned previously, it is much more realistic to imagine buying a sidecar for a motor scooter, rather than for a moped. If you decide to go with a motor scooter sidecar, there are many different places that make and sell those. Anywhere you can find motor scooters themselves will likely to have sidecars as well, and you should also check out vendors and dealerships that sell motor scooter accessories.
